L.I.E.S. - Limiting In Every Sense

Drama.  Emotional storms and turmoil.  Big time exaggerations and noise.  Ever had to deal with any of these?  Welcome to the world of lies, which might be considered to mean limiting in every sense.

The emotional storms and dramas designed to get attention just serve to alienate and destroy the very thing we ask for.  We limit ourselves because we do not believe in ourselves.  We put the chains down on our highest ideals and play this drama game believing that others will not and cannot recognize who we are.  Yet these manipulations are the distortion of who we are at the core; beautiful beings who have no need to put on a huge explosive show to get attention as a substitute for real human emotion and feeling.

Why do we do it?  Because we have come to believe that in order to receive love we have to blackmail our way into the hearts of others using threats and distortions.  These manipulations are a disservice to our true nature and ultimately serve no constructive purpose other than to show us how we have learned all the lessons we were taught by parents and society completely and unconditionally.

Look at the emotional storms on TV:  soap operas, survivor, political debates, noisy newscasts.  Especially in America we see sensationalism triumphant walking all over human sensibility and human sensitivity all under the banner of making as much noise as possible to get noticed and get the attention of the ever absent parent figure or God, whichever or whatever is required outside ourselves to serve validation to our bad behavior.  It is a sick and twisted version of humanity and a mockery to our highest nature.

Even the best and brightest among us are not immune to this limiting casting of our roles.  After all, we must be approved, no matter how bad our behavior is.  Unconditional love deserves the thumbs up, doesn't it?  We should be able to get away with everything, right?  And be rewarded for doing it?  Isn't that what Jesus died on the cross to give us?  Give us this day our daily unconditional forgiveness to make it all feel ok for being such bad boys and girls.

Do we really wish to continue with this game we play?  How much of our true selves have we lost by playing it?  Is it worth the "fabulous" rewards offered to us (if any)?  What every happened to faith and trust in the human heart to deliver a better tomorrow?  Or have we lied ourselves out of any possibility in believing in any of us every again?

For every lie we tell we lose a little part of the divine nature that we are gifted with.  For every lie we believe in we lose a little bit more.  But we have a choice to see our lies for what they are: desperate ways to attract the unconditional love we really desire.  And yet, every lie pushes that love away further and further until we are so far from love that we have lost all semblance of life as it was meant to be.

We all have an excuse for why we won't or don't embody unconditional love to each other and to our selves.  What's yours?

The War of Desires and The Test of Wills

When two people or groups desire something that is diametrically opposed, this begins a war of desires between the two individuals or groups.   When desires are in conflict, what we witness is a test of will.  The test of will tests the desire within us to accomplish our objectives.  The being with the stronger desire will actually win this contest over time, but only through incredible sacrifice of will, energy, and power in order to achieve the objective that they have set their heart upon.

You can always tell who is going to win a contest.  The stronger party is the one that has the greater passion in its cause.   Thus the strength of desire is the ultimate test of will.  Power derives from the expansion of thought that is driven forward by great desire.  A great mind can be weaker than a greater desire to achieve.  Genius, even if gifted by birth, can be surpassed by someone with stronger desire and ambition to advance.

The root of desire in consciousness is at the core of what we call Love.  Love, driving desire forward into power through mind creates force to overcome obstacles physical, mental, psychological, and spiritual.  This power cannot be stopped.  This power cannot be overcome.  It waits and presses forward patiently towards fulfillment.

In a conflict of desire and will, established interests oppose the young and new players who fervently and passionately desire a better life for themselves.  Who is stronger?  Who will win the challenge?  It is obvious that the future belongs to the young and the children.  They have yet to gain power, and as such, ultimately must have a greater taste for it than those who are already vested in power.  In addition, the old are going to pass away before the young, so if generational conflict exists, the young are always favored.  Though these tests have been cruel and destructive in the past, the next round is likely to prove that strength alone will not prevail as the establishment will discover.  The desires of world of humans cannot be denied.  We will live.  We will be free.  No one can stop us.  We are the ones who will choose.

If Love is the root of your desire, then you cannot be defeated.  You have already won.  It may take a trillion lifetimes, but you will get there.  The fact that you keep testing power makes all the difference.  Thus, we must fight on to achieve our right to be the ones.  There is no other way except to give up and let the other ego win because you are afraid to rise up and meet our destiny.

Only the weak simply lie down and die when confronted.  The strong must rise up and meet the challenge.  No one will ever respect weakness.  It will always be stepped on and sidelined.  It is not your nature to be weak.  Weakness is not about compassion.  It is about a belief in weakness.  It is about fear of standing up.  It is about feeling inadequate for the task.  But, to give into the inadequacy because of shame or doubt is to give in to defeat before you are defeated (which in truth you cannot be except by your own choice).  Defeat can only exist in the mind of someone who believes in it.  Yet to win the war of desires and test of wills, you must march on.  If you are too weak to march in the procession of victory, you can still support them from a distance with your voice.  With this strength, the new leaders will march to victory against the establishment which is weaker than us.

You can confront your weakness only within to know how it is you are taught weakness as you grew up by your environment and education.  When you know how you have been kept down by fear of greatness being defeated by a greater power, then you may claim your right to rise up against authority and confront it until you win.  What authority does is not relevant to this state of freedom that comes from the courage to believe that you are the one that will change things.  This idea is what authority does not wish you to have because with it you can overcome your own fear.  The establishment relies upon your own personal demons to keep you in your place.  That is the constant game they play to keep you down and in the dark.  They would prefer that you do not discover your desire to rise up and become powerful and they would prefer that you subsume your will to theirs.  This is how the game of power is played.  If you understand the game, then you realize that most of what you are taught is a subtle manipulation to keep you weak so that someone else can exploit you for their own agenda and designs.  Those who do not know the game are easily defeated.

As an individual, you are weak, unless you are strong enough to speak out against the treatment you may be receiving.  More importantly, you must confront injustices.  You have a right to be.  You have a right to have.  This is implied by what you believe about what you own and have right to claim.  In fairness, in a collective that agrees to new rules of wealth allocation, you have a much better chance of succeeding than challenging the full range of the power of the current collective by yourself, no matter how powerful you may be.  Alliances offer the best possibility for achieving short and long term goals.  This is one reason that the establishment destroys alliances quickly.  Individuals are always a threat to the establishment's power, but groups represent a much larger threat as they could mushroom into a movement that could overcome the advantage the establishment has.  Once again, desire determines the victor ultimately.  Will overcomes will.  You must believe you can win before you do.  You must also know how to win before you can.

As a final note, there will always be an establishment of some sort.  There will always be upstarts and rebels of some sort.  These patterns are the same everywhere at all stages of consciousness.  The young will always seek to overthrow the ways and plans of the old when it is their turn to make choices.  This will continue until there is an agreement to work collectively towards a plan that is fair and just for all.  Even then, the conflict between egos is eternal.  We all have a right to stand up and claim our place.  We all have a right to prove ourselves to others.  We all have a right to be great.  Power flows to those that take a stand.  That is the way it has been.  That is the way it always will be.  And so it is.

Representations of Failure and Perfection

The word "failure" in modern language is defined to mean a permanent state of disappointment with the past and what was and was not accomplished according to a timetable created by someone's uninitiated ego.  By uninitiated I mean believing in "death" so that there is assumed to be no time to accomplish objectives within the context of an individual lifetime as each person is assumed to have one and is assumed to be under the demands of the accomplishment of success whereby the person must achieve "perfect results".  These "perfect results" are designed similarly from the position of authority assumed by someone else who exists in a hierarchy looking down on them, presumably, to give them a measure and standard upon which they must perform.  While practically, this measure is necessary and proper, the ideology of "failure" pressures people into acts of desperation because of a lack of long term critical thinking with regards to the true nature of existence and the true measure of success.

The word "failure" may simple be described internally as the experience of disappointment.  Disappointment is necessary in order for false beliefs of perfection to be rejected and replaced with a perfection that is based upon higher values.  These higher values of perfection are the ones that are created when we achieve a success, realize a higher ambition, and disappoint a plan to create a better plan that is closer to the truth than the one before it.  While no plan is absolutely perfect, and no state of being can be considered truly perfect throughout all time and space, these definitions of perfection are necessary to experience a satisfaction with the results that were created to the best of your ability at the time you realized what it was you set out to achieve.

The state of constantly questioning our prior achievements as being unworthy of our nature is only correct if we assume that our nature is unchanging.  Yet, our nature as beings is in a constant state of evolution through which we grow, learn, and discard previous ideologies, beliefs, and behaviors that we recognize as being imperfect.  While, at the time when we were acting out these incorrect modes of existence through our unconscious state of belief, these elements of imperfect knowing served their own purposes.  Thus while we should question our experiences to learn, we should not bash ourselves to force ourselves to reject our learning experience because of a false ideology based upon an unreasonable timetable based on imperfect information.

When we learn something about ourselves that causes us to discard a preexisting destructive behavior or idea we prove that negative does not exist except in the moment of feeling it fully for the first and last time.  What we feel, in those moments of negativity, is the full realization of the error.  Those moments are necessary to change our outlook.  It is then possible to state that the negative never was, and was not, because it's product, a better outlook, was created.  Yet, at the same time, the state of experiencing the negative was necessary in order to see the better outlook.  Negativity is only the lesson backwards in consciousness.  Thus, it is only experienced "right side up" after we know what it truly was and how it was that we fixed something in the process.  This is what we call learning.

The entire edifice of negativity is build upon the grounds of knowledge.  Every single negative event in every single person's life is simply knowledge unexamined.  Within the dark is contained the answer for the existence of the dark, the history of why it is, the knowledge what it is, and the answer as to why it was experienced.  This redemptive quality is made possible by you, the observer, experiencer, and knower of your life.  You are the witness and you make the choices.

In this, perfection and imperfection are all about perspective.  Knowing that everything has a purpose and a reason allows us to look fearlessly into the heart of fear and know that what lies there is the answer to the deepest questions of our own lives.  We may look deeply into the heart of our own worst mistakes and find an answer to how it is we made them, why it is they happened, and how it is that we can change them.  Then, we may say, they never happened, as we became the difference to what was, is, and most importantly of all, what will be.

How we represent failure and perfection to ourselves is based, at first, on what we learn from our family and society.  These standards are created and projected through the collective on waves of thought.  As these waves spread through our own consciousness, we become aware of the fact that we do not necessary act in our best interest because we have not been taught to act in our own best interest.  While this may, at first, appear to serve the agenda of the few, it is in fact, not serving anyone's agenda ultimately.  That is because of the law of karma.  It is impossible to create a destructive system of oppression without becoming caught up in the karma of that system.  It is impossible to destroy the rights of a majority without losing your own rights.  Thus, it is illogical and irrational to practice oppression because it costs you, the oppressor, money and time in the long run.

Systems of failure and perfection based on false ideologies cost everyone something.  The price is paid daily.  Yet none of this could be avoided.  It can only be changed at the moment of inception, when a new ideology of success and perfect mindedness replaces the ideology of force and deception that the current system represents.  How can the old system be replaced?  It can only be replaced when people know it.  The system itself is, in fact, a body of knowledge.  It is like a book that you read.  We know much of the history of oppression.  The history of belief is also very well recorded.  The past life connections are not recorded, as they are below our current level of perception as a collective.  Yet each piece of knowledge that is revealed changes elements of the collective slowly.

Imagine being able to change something just by knowing it.  While this may seem complex and utterly ridiculous, knowing what something is changes the nature of the relationship between you and it.  Where before you may have experienced the illusion of dark specters ruining your day, knowing the nature of the experience you have had and are having changing the way in which the experience operates instantly.  The power of knowledge is truly beyond words.

So while we are unaware of how we represent failure and perfection to ourselves up until the moment we choose to examine the origin of those beliefs in consciousness (in this life or beyond), then we are prisoners to our unconscious representations.  As long as we do not examine them, they are the programs which run our lives, for better or worse, until we understand their origins, their nature, and why it is we cling to them so stubbornly.  Don't like the results?  Change the program.  Make a new choice once you understand what choices you have been programmed to take automatically by your "education".  It is that simple.

At the end of the day, we all must face our own demons.  They are all made of knowledge.  Every last one.  It is that knowledge that frightens us.  It is our ability to know that makes us cringe.  We have all been trained to pretend that we don't know.  But the fact is, deep down, you know what it is that you are experiencing.  You know why you are experiencing it.  You know how you created it.  The answers are everywhere, because the signs are everywhere.  All you have to do is listen to your heart and read the signs.

The Ego Speaks

The "new age movement" anti-ego ego is a bore.  A bore beyond bores.  How could anyone follow the complete lack of imagination that comes out of that end of the collective shame.  The ego could be fantastic.  The ego could be fabulous.  No one ever picks the "anti-ego".  Those that do end up destroying themselves with a sad look on their face because they couldn't see past their loneliness.  Now, while that's sad and all, people who love life would never simple reject everything it has to offer.  What kind of idiot does that?

Yes, there is the moment of bitter realization that the world just is a small place and the most money you could possibly make here is hideously limited by the lack of productive output.  But, what about your imagination?  Why not simply make a better story and be happy with that?  Not enough ego?  Did you decide it was all not worth it because you needed to spend some time feeling poor for yourself?  Poor you.  When you find out what you're sad about, come by the party.

There is alot of bad stuff going on around the world.  How much of it has to do with ego?  All of it.  How much of it has to do with anti-ego?  All of it.  What?!  Huh?  Confused?  I bet.

People who reject the world could be said to be anti-ego.  People who wish to exploit the world for their own purposes could be said to be ego but anti-world.  People who wish to care for the world could be said to be of higher ego and pro-world.  A higher ego is a bigger ego is a better ego.

The solution to the world's problems has never been to reject everything that is everything and declare that everything is nothing.  That is what is referred to as nihilism which is loosely translated as a belief or worship of nothing.  While this is a fabulously boring philosophy to force on anyone, there are many who swear that the best way to save the world is for humanity to off itself quickly and let the animals take the place over again.  As much as love animals, I must utterly reject that mood as utterly and totally useless.

What could be more beautiful than an ego that spans the stars dreaming in an infinite sea of dreams; a vast dream of its own service to all the beings that are all of his or her's relations?  This is ego too.  Not the ego you were expecting, no doubt.  What could be more meaningful than the promise of eternal life for an ego so vast that it would touch the infinite with the right to create a sea of life as vast as an eternal imagination could create?  Could you conceive it?  Would you believe it?  Or is this just another trick to get you to turn to the dark side of ego?

Maybe I'm sugar coating the possibilities here.  What about all the pain?  The suffering?  What about the death?  The horror?  What about the dark?  Don't I realize that by creating countless bodies for countless beings I am causing them endless pain to be reincarnated over and over to experience the nightmare of breathing, eating, walking, talking, doing, and discovering themselves?  Am I just the greatest fat controller to ever walk the world, or the many planes of the afterworld to dare to suggest that maybe, just maybe, that the whole thing might be worth it at the end when every one of those beings gets a chance to experience the joys of creating a life and a soul themselves?  Is it worth it?  You tell me.

Haven't quite gotten what you were promised?  Did you even bother to ask?  Did you even bother to look past your resentment long enough to see the possibility of the eternal life that beats in your soul?  To know the truth of who you are?  Did you look?  Did you see?  Are you still believing in the illusion that things aren't the way they need to be?  The ego is of service.  Know your dark rites to see why it is you experience them.  Know your sacrifices and why you made them.  Arm yourself with the truth of what you are.  A human being is greater than any dream of God yet written.  The possibilities await.  The eternal ego lifting the eternal spirit forever into the infinite soul of eternal birthing and re-birthing creation through mind and body.

Now let's talk details.

Imagine for a moment the thought that nothing ever happened that was negative.  Beneath all the misguided attempts to get somewhere else lies the truth at the heart of emptiness that proves, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that nothing simply doesn't exist.  It's an odd place to be, where all the bad feelings in the world add up to so many illusions that don't matter or add up to a hill of beans, or one bean, or even an atom's worth of bean.  But how can anyone see past the wall of fear, doubt, hate, rage, or other hysterical outpouring coming at us from somewhere?  Where does all that nasty stuff come from anyway?

Many are inclined to blame the neighborhood fanatic, unwelcome foreigner, or odd individual.  Others would prefer to think that some establishment is responsible through an odd frequency of conspiracy and intention to harm.  But then, how, rationally, can any of this be anything other than an illusion of the most insidious kind that we are forced to face it with two eyes open?

The odd truth about non is that it isn't.  It never happened.  You were never there.  It's a weird place to be that some would simply label denial or delusional.  I mean, surely, I would not deny the victim the right to stand against the victimizer and demand justice?  But reality isn't based on what was, or even what is, if what it stands for is nothing but a callous indifference to the right to know.

So then the wheel (of karma) turns.  The illusion burns.  And the right to know goes unexplored behind a facade to escape the inescapable truth.  There is no prison, no guard.  There is no oppressor.  There is no evil doer hiding behind an invisible cloak waiting to pounce when we least suspect.  Our suspicions turn out to be baseless echoes of long gone ghosts.  The dreams of our ancestors relived through the collective dream.  How then are dreams real?  Even less, dark dreams.  The only thing that matters about dreams is what you get out of them.  You can't take the darkness outside of the dream, only outside of the dreamer.  When the dream is gone, only the dreamer remains.  Do bad dreams matter after you wake up?

That makes me think that waking up is easy to do.  Hard must just not be.  It isn't.  You weren't there.  It never happened.  That sort of attitude could piss alot of people off, but if anger isn't real, then what good would it do them to pretend?  Is there really even a "them"?  Or is just another act played by a dreaming actor or actress designed to delay the inevitable realization that their lives are based on an illusion.  Darkness to darkness, light to light.

The dream of endings is an interesting one.  Death, the perennial favorite of every unreal "realist" points a finger in the face of no one.  Accusing the awakened, the shadow, dripping with its own delusional hostility believing that it somehow speaks makes its words meaningless.  This is called "death consciousness", but it never happened.  And you weren't there to know.  So if darkness is just another sign, then some people are zombies.  And if we are actually surrounded by zombies, sleepwalking who eat the dead, metaphorically and allegorically of course, then why is it that we worry at all about how those zombies are going to react to a bit a light in their lives?  Maybe we've been sleepwalking too long ourselves.  But then we were never here.  And it never happened.

There is an old saying in science.  You can't prove a negative.  And yet, people base their whole lives around trying to prove negatives.  They work hard at proving how miserable they are.  They endlessly talk about how bad things happened.  They constantly judge with harshness themselves and others.  Are they trying to prove themselves unhappy?  Are they trying prove a non?  And who could possibly commit to non?  Nothing is as nothing.  It doesn't do.  It isn't.  So why try?  Trying is lying.

There is a saying I have heard recently.  Fake it till you make it.  I'm certain I wasn't there when I heard it.  I know I didn't just write it down for you to read it.  I know you didn't see it.  Because the more you think about it, the more you realize what I am saying about what we refer to as "bullshit".  I could categorize this "bullshit" thoroughly and explain it to you until your brain hurt.  But I will spare you just for right now by showing you that faking it isn't making it.  So why bother with faking it at all?  What are we faking?  Truth?  Love?  Knowledge?  Conscience?  Power?  Greatness?  Humility?  Pick one.  It's pathetic to believe that you can become anything by faking.  How do you fake originality?  You can't.  So faking isn't real.  It never happened.  And only zombies make up shit like that.  You put 2 and 2 together and you get it.  That's called success.  The rest is bird food and garden fertilizer.

The magic of non is that it isn't unless it has a witless witness.  The witness must be brainless to not see the logic.  How does one prove death?  How does one prove fear?  How does one prove hate?  Each of these myths is a self creating self sustaining system.  It doesn't exist because you can't prove it's there.  If you don't believe me, try to isolate a negative in your consciousness.  You can't.  That's because it disappears the minute you see it for what it is.  Bullshit.  Fertilizer for the soul.

I hang out with a few people who believe that "what you focus on expands".  They say its bad to focus on the negative.  They don't watch news, and are usually what we refer to as "conspiracy theorists".  But the negative isn't real, so how can focusing on it hurt anyone?  If you call their ideology black, they get very annoyed and start spewing their illusions all over the place, generally in your direction.  But if it is all an act, then why get caught up in the drama?  And if the drama is just an act, then why bother with the show.  At the end of the show, it's non or anon.

I had a bad dream once.  I don't remember what it was about.  I think I learned something.  I let the dream go.  I woke up happy.  That is what mattered.  I thanked the dream.  I remembered myself.

Wakey wakey.  Anon to non.

Musings On Myth, Science, and Metaphysics

The grandmasters of old weren't.  They never existed.  Human civilization is in it's infancy.  Atlantis never existed, it's just a myth, or if it's not a myth, it was a city in the Mediterranean that was blown up by a volcano or sunk by an earthquake.  It was nothing special, and they didn't fly around on space ships or use anti-gravity sleds given to them by aliens.  Any rational individual would consider such claims to be contrary to modern science and utterly ridiculous.

The only mystery school worth mentioning was in Egypt.  The rest of the mystery schools were weak attempts to put together an idea that works, though many of them did have snippets of the truth enough for a strong spirit to make headway in the chase for better answers.  Most of the information that was useful about the true mystery school of Egypt was destroyed with the Library of Alexandria by the local bishop under the orders of the then Pope.  But still, knowledge lives on in the hearts and minds of those who keep the path.

Egypt didn't come from Atlantis, because Atlantis never existed.  While some of the channelings of information may have some pertinent information to some place in the cosmos remote from this one, they have nothing to do with the immediate history of Earth or, in all likelihood, any prior Earths that may have been (through reincarnation of the planet, this one). None of it can be considered reliable information, because it is all tainted by nonsense, speculation, and unexamined ego associations that are easier to explain with basic psychology. It takes a serious skeptic to practice science, and an even more serious skeptic to successfully deal with myth and metaphysical musings.  You simply cannot assume that "psychic" perceptions are accurate because you had them once or twice.  Scientists do not do one test and then declare that they know the secrets of the Universe.  It just doesn't work that way.  There is no "I read it on the internet, therefore, it must be true because I like it".  That's what we refer to as lazy mindedness.

It takes time to make sense of reality.  Science has always been the answer, metaphysics is just a branch of science that deals with states of being and creating realities.  For this, one must have a serious mind dedicated to proving the real.  The world we see is a product of metaphysics and physics.  Many people think that the Big Bang theory and modern cosmology got rid of metaphysics.  But, of course, they did not, because the question must still be asked and the proof still be given.  For which we enter into the realm of metaphysical speculation concerning the reality we find ourselves in.

While there are those who would smite out the question for fear of an answer, all scientists must still provide proof for what they believe.  Despite claims of the proof of a Big Bang, no such claim would stand the test of true inquiry into the nature of the evidence.  And yet, the public is uninterested in such finer points, so the issue has largely been dropped from collective consciousness, except for the few individuals whose love of knowledge exceeds their love of other pursuits.

In spite of all the efforts to quash metaphysical speculation, where physical science ends metaphysical science begins.  All those higher dimensional mathematics being currently used to support the unsupportable Copenhagen interpretation of quantum physics through string theory are an example.  If the math works, what makes it work?  Not that anyone really knows enough about the math to question how math becomes force which yields power without an ounce of substance through pure mind of which nothing is known.  Math does not give an answer of how thought became matter, or how it did so "naturally" without an observer through random fluctuations of equations that seem to calculate themselves as if by magic (invisible magic no less).  What are these equations made of?  Numbers?  Didn't humans invent numbers?  This is one deep rabbit hole equation, we don't even know what the universal equation is made of or how it got there to begin with.  Perhaps numbers replicate and divide like cells, but then, how do they do so?  Is there another equation inside the number that governs its replication?  Which equation governs the sentence that I'm writing, or the choice I made to write it?  I'm feeling a bit boxed in by the perplexity here.  Maybe, I'm the only one that noticed that none of it made any sense at all.

Or perhaps there is a mathematical equation that defines choice for us so that we never have to choose, but instead allow our most illustrious leaders to make all of our choices for us and tell us what to think so that we may worship them, be they so beneficent and magnanimous.  A penny for your thoughts, professor?

A great joke of science is that science cannot know anything without an observer present.  And yet an observer cannot be explained.  His or her existence cannot be justified or rationalized through any principle of physics.  What are we doing here?  Cogs in a machine without a soul building dreams in a land of dreamers that makes no sense.  Why is any of this or that here?  Why does it matter? Where did it come from?  An infinite sea of equations made of equations in an equation calculating itself?  I don't think so, though partially true on some level.  But certainly not the whole story, not by a long shot.  Incidentally, an equation is a mathematical statement used to prove knowledge of dimensional logic.

If the observer is a brain, where did the image come from?  If the image is made of light or electrons, how did the light or electrons self know itself to get me to say "hello, I see the light"?  Maybe I'm just another robot in a world you invented, if certain "new age" theories are to believed.  But I doubt that, though I can't prove my doubt, since proving a negative is said to be impossible.   At the end of proof, luckily, is the pudding.  Pudding.  Finally, something we can all understand and agree upon..I think.  What do you mean "is it gluten free"?

Choice, Fate, and Destiny

From an analytical point of view, choice is something that isn't immediately rational.  Choice is not something that can be measured.  You don't see it carved on someone's forehead.  It isn't on their calendar or even in their astrology chart.  While major life changing events can be predicted ahead of time, what people will do with that experience is outside the bounds of the rational analytical mind to grasp, much less explain.  Or so it seems..

There is moment of choice, however.  A person is sitting or standing facing the mirror of the soul asking themselves the question of what it is they can do to change.  It's a strange place.  It's an unexpected place.  One that you find yourself in time in time again, usually not of your own choosing.

How can a circumstance that you don't choose lead to a choice that you could not foresee?  How many times has it happened in the course of your life that you really had to make a major choice?  Not the Coke or Pepsi choice mind you, but something more significant that has life changing results.  To be or not to be, surely that is the question.  But why to be or not to be?  Because of destiny and its opposite, fate.  This is why crisis (fate) comes calling once in a long while, to remind us that we have a destiny.

It is in the reexamining that you discover a reason to change.  This is a process of diagnostics.  Reflection is required.  You reflect when you are stopped.  You go within in search of answers, or go without to ask someone else to fix the problem.  When you can rely on no one else, that is when you choose to be or not to be.  Destiny, it seems, is a lonely road at first.  But when destiny is with you, you never remain alone for long.

Power is thrust on those who choose.  It is often not of their first choice (what they want) that they stand up and say "I am here", but instead great times make great human beings.  In the end, you must stand up and become who you are born to be.  Fate is not without it's sense of irony, and destiny is not without its surprises.

There is a saying.  You can't run forever.  Wherever you go, there you are.  And just sometimes, there is someone there to tell you who you are even when you don't want to hear what they have to say.  Choice is not about you or me.  Choice is about something more.  Everyone makes choices.  Every choice has consequences.  You are bound by the consequences of the choices that you make.  But you always have a choice to unbind your choices, to undo your errors.  This happens in time.  Power is patient.  Destiny is everlasting.  Persistence yields results.

No one walks the path alone.  Destiny creates real connections, ones that you can't imagine.  Even greater though, it brings human beings together.  Human beings who likely would have thought twice about about every having to do with one another.  Bound by fate, we are prisoners, but together by choice, we are free.  Ironic isn't it?  Such sweet irony.  Let us dance.

What is karma?  Well it could be said that karma is everything.  Everything keeps turning.  And everything keeps track of everything perfectly.  That is a very, very short synopsis of the nature of karma.  Karma deals with a particular aspect of everything which has to do with repetition.  Everything repeats in consciousness.  That is simply the nature of consciousness, which is also the basis for everything.  So then karma is the turning, or more specifically, the turning in everything.

Since everything turns, then karma matters.  Last time I checked everything is turning, so karma must be real.  So what's this all about turning, you might ask?  Why does that matter?

When things turn, they eventually return.  The return is where you meet your karma.  Karma is the fate you create when you choose to do something.  That something had to come back.  It is simply the nature of turning and things.  All things turn, all things are drawn back to what created them.  So when something returns, do you reject it or do we accept it?  Those who reject karma lose something.  Those that accept karma become something more.

Karma is like debt.  When you borrow money, you don't think about the possibility that you won't pay it back.  You think that everything is going to work out just the way you think.  Then something happens.  You lose your job.  Now, you are faced with your karma.  If you reject your karma, then you revolt and try to compound your error with additional errors.  This is the path that leads to self destruction, often called by old occultists the "left hand path".  If you accept your karma, you recognize that you were misguided, and you attempt to solve the problem of debt in your life.  This would be called the "right hand path".  The difference between one and the other is the critical element of acceptance or rejection.

When you accept your karma, you go about the process of fixing.  Fixing is a means through which you diagnose, analyze, and understand how you created what you created, and then learning what you need to do to create something else.  This then is what karma leads to, which is something called dharma.  Dharma is the work you do that fixes the problem.  It could be considered the solution to the karmic conundrum.  It is how you free yourself from the wheel of turning which leads to returning.

It is said that if you keep going where you are going, you will keep getting what you getting.  The difference in all this is you.  You choose to see or you choose to stay in karmic tunnel syndrome.   If you like your karma, then everything is good.  If you don't like it, then you may change it.  When you change your karma, you create new karma.  All karma ultimately leads to the destination implied by fate which is choice.  Choice is what allows you to make decisions and become more.  Choice, though is not the end of karma, only the beginning.

All things turn.  It is in the turning that we face our fate.  It is in the choosing that we master it.

Nuances of Control

Control is an element of consciousness.  We use many means of control during the course of our lives while we lack faith and understanding of how the universe can truly operate to best facilitate our own development and to help us understand the true measure of Love through giving and receiving in harmony with others and for the best good of all.

The primary associations of control are with money and sex.  Both money and sex are used as means of control and form the basis of controlling relationships.  While this essay is neither a blanket condemnation of sex or money, both of which are good when used correctly, it is an exploration regarding the nature and mechanisms of control in the psyche and is fundamentally a psychosocial analysis of the phenomenon and experience of individual and collective control.

The boundaries of control are determined through experience.  Control exists wherever we feel that our personal right to choose is being intentionally restricted by someone else for the purpose of using us to achieve an objective or to get something which is desired.  Control is a problem because it is an invasion of our space and right to determine the course of our lives through our choices.

Control and the conflicts surrounding the ability to create change are primarily a social process. Societies, as they are governed through ideology, must have some means of operating effectively to create order through good choices.  Systems of control have been invented to protect the ruling classes from choices that diminish their ability to control the distribution of collective resources to create a base of influence and power for themselves.  In order to maintain control, individuals who have self identified as being, in general, not of the people, have created means through which people can be controlled and coerced into surrendering resources to those who are willing to use force to ensure that they control how those resources are allocated and utilized.

While this process is by no means fully formalized in every individual who uses these methodologies of force, the science and art of control are highly engrained as a culture among certain institutions.  The means of control utilized varies from highly elaborate ritualized depravation of individual justice to direct or implied informal criminal relationships based on fear and intimidation.  These processes can be fully analyzed and categorized to reveal the depths of control and the nature of the psychological need for control among those who seek to dominate others in order to maintain what could be called an easy life of prominent persuasion.

Control, being in essence an illusion implied as being an actual system, is in no ways difficult to understand.  Control arises from a basic need to feel secure.  Security, at the core, is the desire to feel warmth, Love, and attention from others.  This desire for security arises at birth and develops according to the environment and experiences of the individual in question.  The first time an individual experiences the withdrawal of warmth, attention, and affection, the ego automatically begins working towards getting it back.  Thus, we first try to control Love before we understand how to surrender to it in order to become it so that we may give it.  Control is natural to the learning process of letting go.  At first we must hold on in order to experience our loss completely.  It is at this stage, that is natural in human development, that we should learn our lesson and become part of a stable, balanced society as mature adults.  Instead we all have found in one way or another that the collective experience of loss rudely intrudes upon and delays our personal spiritual experience and realization of the truth regarding control.  We are confronted then personally and collectively with control in the form of the insidious tendency to grasp on to an illusion while trying to force reality to live by the standards of irrational personal and collective obsessions (think ideology, religion as examples).  Instead of only having to deal with our personal irrational obsessions, the vast, vast majority of us deals with a hectic combination of the relatively small personal demons and the vastly larger collective social insecurities of our times.

Because social systems are required to learn more elaborate controlling behaviors and to ingrain them as a modus operandi in the unconscious mind, "human type" control does not exist anywhere in nature.  Control, thus, can only exist within the context of a mental analysis of natural forces in psychological development that create complexes which derive energy from psychological experiences.  These experiences are more commonly known as "highs".  Control creates the same "buzz" as any other similar psychological and physiological process such as many drugs, sex, or eating highly flavorful food.  There is thus a highly charged sexual and animalistic element to control tripping that provides the necessary incentive to engage in it.

Collective ritualization of controlling behaviors creates a collective group consciousness that maintains the "buzz" of the animalistic control trip.  While animals do not experience control as  humans would completely define it, there is a natural order of hierarchy in most social animals that resembles the hierarchy of programming required in a society of tight controlling rules and structure based on status and social position. In no ways could these phenomenon be considered natural to stable, balanced, and nurturing societies.   They would be considered natural only in animal societies based on fear and the need for survival.

Control ritualization is a self reinforcing pattern of psychological experiences which creates the mindset that allows control to exist as a "good" in the mind of the controller.  These justifications keep the controller stable and secure in his or her ability to manipulate others to do their bidding without having to account for his or her actions.  Just like any other addiction, this process diminishes the reasoning ability of the individual and subsumes them to a group culture of negativity, aggression, and hostility.  The leader of the control trippers is trained in their culture and reflect their culture to others.  He or she is dependent on the group and the group is dependent on him or her.

The collectivization of control thus creates the basis for the long term permanence of the psychology necessary to exert control and force against those who are considered targets of opportunity by the collective group.  This collectivization is the root basis for aggressive tendencies in nations and groups who are ready and willing to attack in order to seize power and resources for themselves.  Control, here, revolves around money and other elements of physical wealth such as energy (fossil fuels usually), land, water, etc.  By allowing control and force to be the de facto operating principle of action and interaction with others, however, the irrational waste of resources and weakening of the group collective will  occur over time (because of losses of people and resources due to conflict) unless secondary measures are taken to continue the culture of control, coercion, and ritualized violence.

For this reason, the propaganda of the state and the controlling class has always used base instinctive associations with motherland, fatherland, mother, father, and family as an attempt to misrepresent Love to the individuals who live within the collective culture and to maintain their obedience in the face of inept, corrupt, and downright suicidal decisions made by the upper crust of the political and economic hierarchy.  These manipulations use base associations in the deep unconscious to attempt to force a resonance with the intention of more sophisticated rulers who utilize this strategy to brainwash human beings through associations of security.  While this process is actually very elaborate and complex in its planning and execution, the root purpose is to gain leverage over the minds of individuals in order to turn them into useful tools for the extension of power in order to gain resources through collectively ordained theft and/or to exploit other groups through oppression for labor and a raw supply of programmable minions.

Ultimately, control represents a pathology, a fundamental flaw in character caused by the negation of conscience for the purpose of self aggrandizing ego expansion which is delusional, hostile, and irreconcilable with nurturing, creative self expression.  For this reason, control should be identified and rooted out of consciousness wherever we find it rearing its ugly head in our own minds.  The struggle against control must begin with our own controlling nature in our own lives where we mistakenly believe that security can be forced into being through aggression of any form.

As we look at the collective forms of control we must be aware of what can be done to change them.  Control is maintained through the projection of fear, manipulation, secrecy, anger, shame, rejection, and other types of intimidation on a root level.  Knowing this, we can understand the mechanisms that are used to control.  Learning from this we can find ways of empowering ourselves to engage the controllers and compel them to reveal themselves.  When the means of control are revealed, the ability to control begins to lose all meaning.  Control cannot exist in an environment of knowing.  For this reason, knowledge has usually been one of the first targets of controllers, because knowledge gives people the ability to recognize control.  Truth, similarly, exposes control for what it is, a deception built on an erroneous understanding of reality rooted in self destructive tendencies which result in ultimate failure.

Those who use control to manipulate others through any means ultimately will find that people can only be controlled as long as they allow themselves to be.  The people have a choice at any moment to decide to obey or not to obey.  No amount of control can change that fact.  No amount of control can alter that choice.  Intimidation comes at a price.  It is the loss of respect.  And once respect it gone, it is only a matter of time before the corrupted controllers are removed from power, often by their own closest followers.  History is replete with examples of this process.  Collectively, however, this process will end with the destruction of all means of control and the liberation of the people to make choices and decide their own fate through local communities and through nurturing relationships with each other and the planet.

The Nature of Negativity

We all have negative thoughts and emotions over the course of our lives.  At times we don't believe in ourselves, and at other times we are angry or bitter about something that has happened to us.  Negativity is created by how we see ourselves and the world.  There is no easy way of dealing with it except to face how you feel, deal with what you think, and consider your emotions with regards to the situation.

Negativity has been called by many names: the darkness, the shadow, or the dark side.  Our instinctive responses to what happens to us is rooted in ego, which in and of itself, creates the negative.  If I had to describe most negative thought with one word, I would use the word cursed.  Feeling cursed results from making poor decisions from a lack of information.  It also can result from unfair comparisons of yourself to others.  The ego, in its need to motivate us, often descends into a negative mindset as a way of forcing us to act and make changes.  This is necessary and proper, but at times we become too harsh with ourselves through hard permanent judgments.

Negativity can be handled in many ways.  The negative can be used as a source of inspiration to change what we are doing to become better at what we do or to become better people.  When we are unwilling to look at the negative consequences of our actions and words, we fall into the trap that the ego sets in defending us from an honest assessment of ourselves and what we are all about.  This extends to what we do, how we act, and how we treat others.

If someone was treated in a negative manner when they were a child or young adult, the negative behavior patterns become ingrained into our unconscious instinctive reflexes.  For instance, if you were told you were stupid when you were a child or young adult by one of your family members or by another authority figure, you are likely to believe that on some level.  This form of ingrained negativity that comes from verbal and psychological abuse is very common.  People who have low self esteem often suffer from complexes that are created by other people's negativity towards them.  And yet, the negativity is still an issue they must deal with as their own.  While blame serves a momentary purpose, the higher view is that the assessment of the situation from the point of view of fairness and truth will remove the need to assign blame except to address the issue in consciousness.  What this means is that you, or anyone else, must deal with their negative feelings within themselves and choose to see the light within themselves apart from any blame, hate, anger, or other negative experience they may have had to go through.

The truth about negativity is that you can create solutions to deal with negativity simply by choosing another way of seeing things.  A proactive approach is highly useful, once the necessary healing work is done.  Each person is still responsible for their own choices in life, so that positive actions leading to a better self or a better world are always more productive in the long run than constant focusing on the negative.  While the negative is present, it is the responses that we develop to deal with negativity that determines the outcome of situations.  If we choose to rely upon a doomed, or cursed, outlook, we ultimately will lose the will to create a better situation for ourselves or others.  Looking for the silver lining in any situation is what can help us overcome the difficulty of relying on negative outlooks.

The negative "glass is half empty" approach to working out problems is rooted primary in fear, and is less effective in the long run that the "glass is half full".  By assuming a negative outlook without hope for improvement in any situation, we lose the will to make changes.  Fear, thus, paralyzes action and makes our efforts less effective.  As we struggle with our own psychological fears and doubts, only a positive, yet realistic attitude can possibly allow us to achieve lasting long term positive results.

Several elements of negativity are more subtle than others.  Certain people rely on avoidance to distract their attention from addressing problems.  Avoidance, a form of negativity, is a way of dodging responsibility in order to pursue addictions and momentary pleasures.  Procrastination is a form of avoidance.  People play games, drink, do drugs, or meditate in order to avoid facing life and its choices.  This pattern may not appear negative to them, but in fact, they are hiding from the results which are clearly negative.

Because it is often hard to see the negative because of the feelings that the ego generates to hide the truth, the only certain way of discovering what is negative in reality is to observe the results of your thoughts, actions, communications, and feelings.  The results are clearly either negative or positive over the long run.  Certain actions are destructive to us.  Other actions are not.  The physical world offers clear evidence as to which is which the longer we observe and see the consequences of what we are creating through our choices.

People who act out of fear create problems for themselves and others.  People who act out of hate similarly create problems.  However, the truth is often mistaken for hate or even lies.  The reason is that people who are very attached to their ways of doing things do not like the feeling of being exposed to the truth of their own negativity.  For instance, we burn fossil fuels every day when we drive to work to feed ourselves and our families.  The burning of fossil fuels is a long term negative.  Thus anyone who participates in this process must recognize that what they are doing is negative.  If they are living in luxury with many unnecessary material pleasures bought with fossil fuel energy, they are living a very negative lifestyle, regardless of how much apparent comfort it gives them.  These people may even think of themselves as perfectly good in doing so.  But, this is a form of avoidance, proving that these people are not realistic about the physical world and are denying physical scientific law in order to perpetuate their own addictions.

In a less scientific analysis, people often make demands of their workers and wish to pay them very little for the work they do.  This is because they choose to exploit them in order to make profit for themselves.  This is clearly a negative, because the long term consequences of these choices is destructive to society and the long term security that these people believe they are creating.  Negativity, here, is hidden behind the veneer of justifications used to keep wages unreasonably low using the false thinking that such a system creates security for the individual and his or her family.  Over the long run, such thinking spreads negativity amongst the workers who notice the lack of pay, and of course live difficult lives making widgets for low pay.

People would prefer to see the positive in life.  But the problem with this approach is one cannot call a negative a positive.  This is called denial.  You cannot say it is good that we are destroying the forests of the world to make soybeans to feed to pigs to sell to people of which 50% of the meat is thrown away because there is so much "abundance".  The distortion of what is true is called a lie.  Abundance does not consist of what you get for yourself at the expense of others.  Or if it does, then abundance is something that is negative.

The truth is uncomfortable because it offers nowhere to hide from the consequences of your actions.  The truth makes the ego feel trapped.  The ego must either defend its positions and deny the effects that its actions are creating or it must give up and admit that the actions were wrong and the motivations might even be in question.

The ego uses a propaganda principle called "the dark light".  The idea is that the ego masquerades as good while practicing the opposite.  The ego covers for itself by manipulating evidence in its favor or simply by using tactics that involve force and evasion to continue forward with the agenda of action that it has set forth.  The ego has plans.  The ego does not want to examine its motivations for its plans once it has finished deciding.  Negative consequences are bad news to the ego because the ego must make an effort to change.  Every ego is naturally lazy.  And of course, the ego's perceptions are based on protecting the plan, so then the ego must live in fear that the plan will be altered in any way.  While this is natural, a smart individual would recognize that it is in the best long term interest of the ego to notice reality and conform its plans accordingly.  Unfortunately, people are often unable to overcome their psychological tendency to cling on to their poor choices even when it is obvious those choices will lead to their own destruction.

So what we find often, is that the word positive itself, is constantly misused to create support for a negative agenda.  The same with the word good or healthy.  What could be more positive, after all, than creating jobs for poor people who need it?  That is the fossil fuel industry's propaganda as of late about the positive agenda that big coal, oil, and natural gas have to offer the American public.  The negatives that are denied here as the long term environmental consequences of delaying changing our energy infrastructure to a renewable energy system.  This is a clear example of "the dark light" in action.  The misrepresentation of the best interests of individuals perpetrated by the controlling interests of society, specifically in this case large corporations, is the result of an underlying negative.  In this case several underlying negatives.  The first is ignorance of the science of atmospheric physics.  The second is the greed for more profit that serves no further need other than as a means to political and economic power of a select few.  The third negative is the manipulation of the public through the mass media and propaganda.  The forth negative is the pure cynicism required to execute this plan on the part of those who know better.  The fifth negative is contempt for life demonstrated by this brutish, arrogant, and ultimately meaningless approach to economic development.  I could go on, but the this is one example of the negative and how it exists in our lives.

I find it interesting that many people have been using the positive mindset school of thought to cover the tracks of their true agenda and their own negative feelings about life.  This type of approach is what we refer to as cynical.  People who are cynical believe that the way to succeed in life is to steal, lie, cheat, and abuse other people.  Cynicism is rooted in hypocrisy, but fundamentally is the last bastion of the weak minded.  People who are cynical are often the laziest people to think because they have given up on any real dream or idealism, if they had any to begin with.  These people use positive mantras and ideas to promote the latest feel-good scam to rob people of their hard earned money and time.  I notice a great deal of these people in the self-help movement and the spiritual movements of our time.

By offering people the quick feel-good version of spirituality light, they cheat others and ultimately themselves of the ability to feel and know the difference between what is truly good and what seems good but only offers a momentary buzz.    I would describe this state of mind as "caught up" in the moment.  If you examine this phenomenon carefully, you will see that what is being offered is sort of a mental brain drug buzz with some light socialization to fill in the time gaps between lessons and lectures.  Little or no real mental and scientific growth of consciousness is offered, but instead people are sold back their own ignorant assumptions about reality rather than being told that truth about what must be done to fix their problems.

Many would consider this analysis "negative" and that I am being unduly "harsh" with the New Age, religious, and spiritual movements of our time.  They would be utterly wrong.  A true assessment of our situation would clearly point us in the right direction in terms of personal self development while facing these criticisms with engagement and an interest in self-improvement.  Who here among us is above self improvement?  I can think of no one amongst us who can claim to be perfect, except in the cushy feel good sense.  What I see being denied is the need to grow spiritually and develop a mature, realistic grounded physical spirituality based not only on how we all feel or even wish to feel, but on what needs to be done to create a solution that feels good, looks good, and is good.  And to know what that is requires a knowledge of the difference between what is truly positive and what is truly negative.

With that knowledge, we could move forward past the wishy washy feel good positivism that hides the negative results of our not so healthy thoughts and feelings.  We must look at the negative in our lives in order to find the way to the positive.  In doing so we move beyond the dialogue of negative and positive to a place where we must discuss what is really going on in our minds, lives, and in this world so that we can truly make a difference and create the change that we need as a whole.  Society can no longer continue to lie to itself about what constitutes good, right, or even Love.  Negativity should be seen for what it is.  This in and of itself is positive, and the first step towards a more thorough analysis of who we really are, and what we truly are capable of creating.

The Choice of the Collective

Are we all part of a common effort to create change in this world, or are we all individual agents working only for our own vision, lives, choices, and desires?  It seems we are all caught up in the uncertainty, the very terror, of our times.  We can't make it on our own without others, but others are unwilling or unable to offer their support in a world entirely based upon profit and money.  Many continue to choose to sell out to a system that is a gamble from any point of view on their part.  Or perhaps they believe they are so special that the powers will raise them above their comrades to let them join the coalition of sharks on top.  In either case, the collective matters more than the individual, any individual.

And yet the power of ideas suggest otherwise.  A collective in a collision course with its own demise because of its collective choices is not stronger than an individual who has a chance to alter his or her own choice to walk way from the collective.  And yet, we are still left with the problem of the collective other deciding to destroy the very basis of life for the individual in the planet and its systems that sustain any hope of future survival for any one person or group by themselves.  So though the individual may know the right answers, may group with others who know the right answers, and even take actions towards the right answers, the collective other simply blinks its eyes and refuses to budge preventing any meaningful change for the eternity of the moment.

This rather disagreeable situation forces everyone into conflict because we can neither deny the collective will of humanity, nor can we truly control it.  A few may try to direct it because of their position, but even these rarely try and grab the reins that could potentially stir the beast of the collective in the right direction.  We simply cannot deny that we are very weak individually, weak in small groups, and quite ineffective in any large group without some kind of power at our back.  Can one person truly change his or her fate without the support of others?  Can one person truly change the outcome that so many have decided upon?  While history has shown this to be possible, the stakes now are so great that the whole of the world may perish based upon the decisions made by a relatively few individuals.

The collective will of the people of this world must make a choice which destiny they are going to follow.  One destiny involves the destruction of the planet and/or the enslavement of the whole of the humanity to an inhuman process of self destruction for pursuit of short term profits.  The other destiny is one in which humanity works collectively to create a future for itself that builds long term wealth through renewable energy and sees future generations living in an ecological and material paradise.  Between these two futures lies a choice that the collective must make.  It must decide that it deserves the future that is best or it must perish from its own self hatred.  Humanity has been taught to hate itself by history.  Humanity has a choice though, it could choose to believe in its abilities and see its possibilities through science, spirituality, and technology.

The forces of cynicism are strong.  They would have us throw it all away and become slaves to our destruction.  And yet we still have a choice to change that right now.  We could choose to see what is possible and build a future for all of us together.  We have the tools.  We have the intelligence.  We have the power.  All we truly need to believe that is possible is the vision to see it all and know that it is not only possible, but inevitable.

Every day the sky rains wealth in the form of sunlight.  This is the energetic equivalent of a rain of gold coins dropping down ready to be collected.  Every day the wind blows in many parts of the world with energy, once again, ready to be collected.  There has never been any shortage of work.  There is no need for unemployment as we understand the term.  If we cared we could reach out and mine the wealth of the sky or the geothermal energy of the Earth and still have plenty left over for any desire that a reasonable human being could imagine.  What is lacking is faith in the possibility that we can stand up to the ruling powers and tell them that this is the future of this planet.

And in truth, the world has no other future except to die.  So the choice is as clear as one could make it the collective.  It is a choice between everything and nothing.  It is a choice between riches and death.  It is a choice between happiness and non-existence.  It could not be any clearer.  If the collective has bought into self hatred, then it will destroy both itself and any individuals here that try to go down the light path by themselves.

In other words, our fates are dependent upon choices made by others.  This has always been the case, but it is so much so now.  So much so that our attempts to make good our little island of sunshine are constantly being spoiled by others who are determined to have it there way.  Working against each other has become our way of justifying our poverty, of helping it spread.  Yet, there is plenty for all if everyone understood the need to work together, make choices, and act out those choices clearly.

Will the collective choose to destroy itself?  Rationally, no one can honestly believe that people would choose this.  At every other crisis point in our recent history where this possibility came up, the leaders of the world stopped this option.  This time it is different, because it is up to the people.  They have gotten their way with democracy and having their say.  Now, will they choose to live or to act out their destructiveness against each other.

If you had the choice to be rich or dead, which would you choose?  Many of those with great wealth in this world have chosen to die rather than to feel good about themselves.  Take a look at the celebrities who passed away early dealing with deep psychological and spiritual problems.  Collectively will we choose the celebrity disorder of being so attached to our feeling of being cursed that we fail to use the golden opportunity at our fingertips to create and build a life that is worth living?  The intelligent choice would be to choose to join together and agree to be rich together and get busy working towards that future.  The stupid choice would be to just throw it all away.  Do we know for sure what the collective will decide?

I think the result must be inevitable, that reason will prevail over horror and stupidity.  Why?  Because people do think.  People do pay attention.  When the evidence is in, and the choices are clear, people always choose what is in their best interests.  When we are given bad evidence and faulty reasoning to attempt to coerce us into bad choices, it has been shown that those who must manipulate a result in this manner have to expend a tremendous amount of energy to maintain the illusion that they know better.  The costs of suppressing humanity attempting to preserve itself are not on the side of the fossil fuel industry.  The battle, in fact, is largely being found only in the United States.

The intelligent people of the world already recognize what is going on.  They have already decided for the collective that global warming is the greatest threat ever faced by humanity.  The only people who haven't gotten the message are the people who are too busy making money from this nonsense to let go long enough to realize they will destroy us all by ignoring the truth.  Eventually, the collective will be faced with weather disasters that even the United States will be impossible to cover up from a corporate propaganda point of view.  The days of the fossil fuel industry manipulating public opinion are numbered.  We are one major climate disaster way from a wholesale change in human attitudes.

This unknown climate disaster will force the collective to reevaluate the evidence being presented and the result will be a shift of power away from the centers of corporate authority that has enabled this poor outcome.  The reactions of these authorities will determine whether corporate capitalism itself survives as a viable system in the midst of climate crisis.  For instance, all that has to happen to force this change in the collective is for the Arctic Sea Ice to melt completely for one summer, something that has not happened for hundreds of thousands of years.  Once it melts, it will not likely return in summer.  Such a change would cause a huge climate shift as ocean patterns will adjust to compensate for the loss of the summer sea ice.  This event is between 3 to 20 years away and highly likely to occur before 2020.

Other plausible events include droughts or large scale floods in any major country that causes mass loss of life.  Thailand recently had massive flooding on a scale not seen for decades, but this area is already fairly flood prone.  Critical mass to address climate change seriously is probably not far off.  Once it has been reached, the small scale human problems that have dominated our consciousness will very quickly be replaced with a collective will to survive.  What the intelligent members of the environmental movement and its allies can do is to put the pressure on when these events occur.  The opposition will probably already have plans to deny as usual.  Pressure can work.  If the media is forced to turn its attention to this issue in a manner that invites what I refer to as actionable intelligence, i.e. what our leaders can do now, it would be greatly help avoid disaster down the road.

Wealth is a great motivator in good times.  We could all gain wealth through a renewable energy economy that has no limits on its potential growth.  Death is a great motivator in bad times, when bad news come forward, so what is causing this threat?  We all know, we should all speak at once that we know because we understand climate science.  The more we believe in the message, the more powerful will that message become.  It is the message of our times for the collective.  It is the choice of the collective.  Once that choice has been made, everything we do afterwards will have a collective meaning.  We will have become one.

I love this planet and its people.  We deserve to care.  We deserve to be cared about.  This planet deserves our love.  Isn't it time we all stopped pretending that anything else except Love matters?  The collective must realize that to be free it must see, it must know, and it must believe.  We are one species, one sentient collective.  We have the power to change our fate.  The future is not written.  It is ours to write.  There are no more gods to blame.  There are no more demons to point fingers at.  The days of superstition are gone.  We have the power to destroy or create.  We must choose which one matters more to us.

Desiring Desire

Why do we care?  What makes something worth doing?  What is that we truly want?  Power?  Money?  Fame?  Attention?  Or is it Love, knowledge, and a purpose that goes beyond ourselves?  For some people the answer seems easy, this world is about them and what they want and they will do anything to get it.  For others who care about others it is a much more difficult balancing act between personal desire for some fun and the desire to nurture someone else.

We are all caught up in the trap of desire which Buddhists say causes the wheel of karma to turn.  And yet without desire, we surely would have nothing to do or believe in at all.  Why would anyone even bother to get up in the morning if they had lost all desire?  Is Nirvana then based on some sort of eternal state of giving up everything we desire to receive a nothingness that offers only the possibility of answers beyond what we wish to choose?  If we care, isn't it others that we care about instead of some quasi non-existent state of mindedness or absentmindedness?  What about Love?  When is that we truly desire to prove that we can Love in a way the fully satisfies everyone?

Perhaps passion is not of this world, but we keep getting up every day to try and seek a reason to keep going and believing in something that is not just "about me" and yet of this world.  After all, isn't that what desire and passion are all about?  And how little desire and passion are truly desired in a society that would prefer to practice indifference at every opportunity.  In truth, I believe people are frightened of their desires.  They are frightened of what would happen if they were true to what they really, really desired above all.  What would other people think?  What would other people say?

The world is full of reasons as to why we should repress ourselves.  What we are repressing isn't sexuality, but the very nature of our souls.  We would rather not look, rather not feel, and rather not know who or what we are and what we are truly capable of.  All that repressed desire has to go somewhere, so it goes into the dark side and people explore the dark with all the desire they really wanted to give to the light within themselves and others.  You have to fight with all your will just to make a difference in this world for this reason.  It takes the energy to move mountains sometimes just to get to somewhere on time because our desire within us is dead and buried.

If we have forgotten to care, because others have forgotten to care, is it any wonder why everyone is so alienated from reality?  We don't have answers for each other anymore.  I watch people make complete fools of  themselves knowing they are empty in themselves of any feeling at all except to follow the program without thinking.  Without a desire to grow, without a desire to think, without a desire to do, people become drifters who wander through life waiting for someone else to tell them what to do.  Sometimes, they even refuse that when they have been told too often to abuse themselves by people who had no desire to help them and only use them.  What could we expect of these people except to reject the world and all it represents?

We come finally to indifference, caring about nothing and no one at all.  The drifting through an empty cold desire-less state of unreality is sometimes preferable to many than facing the truth of how utterly cold this world has become.  Others have grown tired of trying to help a world that so little cares for itself or anything truly good and beneficial.  It is wrapped in its shell and so are we.  Trapped together in the collective indifference, we struggle to find any reason to give a damn about anything.  Even the things we really do care about are often far outside our reach to directly help.  Think about the environment or abused children for instance.

Will we ever desire again enough to make a difference?  Will it even matter when no one else seems to care enough to try?  Or will the powers of corruption just take away everything that we have and everything we could potential have in our future?  The cold logic of indifference is completely unconcerned with the future.  Perhaps it is just tired of being ignored.  Perhaps it just wants to care about something besides itself too.  Will the world let it?  Or it too late to care?

The Political and Economic Pitfalls of Attachment to Money

When we look around the world we see the evils of attachment to money.  Money is a form of power which if it becomes the sole cause of your existence will utterly and completely destroy you.  Just like all forms of power, money can become an addiction for which you sell out everything that really matters in your life only to pursue the shallow ends that money often represents.

The purpose of money is to create something more just as the purpose any instrument of power is to allow for expansion.  When power becomes an end to itself, the personality becomes distorted in an effort to acquire more and more of it in order to fill a fundamental vacuum in personal psychology.  When money is used to increase well being, then it is being used for a greater good.

Our society has become extremely shallow and materialistic in its pursuit of the shortest end possible which is profit.  The very basis of money creation and life itself is being threatened by this obsession with short term gains.  Without a planet that sustains life, what good will any amount of money do anyone?

Part of this issue has to do with a lack of care for others that money has come to represent.  The nature of the money we use demonstrates how it is misused to steal and rob people of their wealth and power.  At the same time, the more important resource that money fundamentally represents, energy, is similarly being used to destructive ends polluting the planet and making life for future generations increasingly perilous and stressful with each passing year that the global warming crisis remains denied and ignored.

The utter laziness when it comes to thinking and acting for the long term is ingrained in conservative social, economic, and political institutions that do not wish to change.  Because the personal needs of wealthy and powerful are met in the moment, they have no personal interest in creating a energy system or a money system that works for everyone.  In addition, because all of these interests have to answer to a very few individuals who are making the majority of the decisions, advancing the cause of planetary development beyond profit at all costs comes at a price for any of the political leaders who stand up to the corporate power brokers.  Because it does not serve their individual interests in the moment, the short term thinking is outweighing the long term thinking on the most critical survival issue facing humanity.  The issue is truly a question of life and how much we truly value it and our selves.

While appealing to human selfishness oddly enough results in the same ultimate conclusion that renewable energy systems and a better monetary system would promote the long term survival of our species, the short term attachment to money and the existing system of doing things is the greatest hurdle to seeing the possibility of a better future develop for everyone.  This hurdle is what is currently being demonstrated daily in the struggle to overcome the short sighted and ultimately suicidal tendencies of the power brokers who simply don't care enough to make any changes out of fear of taking short term losses.  Because they are so addicted to the conservative element of the process, the failures of their policies are being ignored and denied in the media which they control.  In no way do they wish to make the fundamental changes they need to make to help humanity or even their own power base here on Earth.

Such utter stupidity offers them no long term hope of maintaining their own power except through drastic reactionary measures designed to send society back to what it was before the 20th century even began with power concentrated in the hands of a very few.  But with looming natural disasters approaching that can only be blamed on them, the costs of their attachment to money and short term results is very, very high.  The amount of control necessary to avoid being held responsible for the global warming nightmare is staggering.  The amount of corruption required to prevent natural political changes places democratic institutions in peril of being completely and utterly subverted.  This effect will likely be impossible to conceal from the public and the public will be impossible to totally control using current media processes which the established vested fossil fuel interests have used up to this point in time to prevent change.

As the costs of propaganda is likely to rise, the only logical near term solution for those that wish to see no changes take place in our addressing of the global warming issue (and its larger causes in the economic institutions of corporate capitalism and corporate ownership) is to use reactionary political mechanisms to turn back the clock to the days where external threats are created and invented to draw public attention from the long term issue.  This process is already evident in the conservative media institutions that use these mechanisms to scapegoat others for crises created by economic policy.

The attachment to money is thus the key psychological mechanism that explains why the individuals who run these economic institutions are so keen on preventing change.  Because modern corporate capitalism is based on short term profit making goals, the long term costs are being passed off to future generations in order for the present generation to enjoy a meager measure of convenience.  It is meager because only a small portion of the human population truly enjoys the conveniences created at the terrible cost to many others and to future generations.

Returning to the issue of reactionary politics, it is in the self serving mindset to seek a cynical means of exploiting existing biases and hatreds to distract the people from the real issues.  The creation of imaginary opponents both abroad and at home is a logical extension of this mindset.  Because it is easier for the established order to avoid and dodge responsibility for its actions by spreading lies and disinformation about other groups rather than facing their own responsibility, the convenience of black sheep politics is likely to expand in the near to medium term future.  Such groups as minorities, immigrants, and other nations are likely to be blamed and accused of creating problems directly or indirectly to maintain the illusion of convenience that the population so craves.

As such, the most rational possibilities are the continued expansion of the list of threats that people will be asked to identify as being hostile and imminently dangerous.  This mechanism of delay and distraction will allow the large industrial corporate powers to continue to exploit the existing planetary resources without fear of being held accountable as the people will be busy attacking themselves, and thus continue to follow the orders of the authorities which is their natural programming.

This long term strategy of subversion will ultimately lead to the downfall of the corporate system if it continues to be pursued.  This strategy is expensive to implement, difficult to contain, and highly unstable to manipulate.  The more violent the people are encouraged to be, the more likely they are to themselves to become uncontrollable.  In addition, intelligent people will not be fooled by this approach, and if they are they are likely not to be fooled long.  As such in order to maintain control the institutions of corporate power will have to introduce police state measure on a scale unseen in the Western World since World War II.  This will increase the costs of control, and create a permanent class of rebellion unless the corporate powers choose to use a policy of very large scale mass arrests and permanent incarceration.  Such a policy would fail almost at once due to the backlash it would generate.  People will not go quietly into the night, especially in the United States whose population is highly armed and already psychologically unstable.

As such, attachment to money will ultimately lead to the downfall of corporate capitalism if the leaders are unable to clean up their actions.  Global warming is likely to be halted under most conditions of long term analysis.  Large scale climate change impacts will force reconsideration of primary economic goals and energy dependency on climate destabilizing fossil fuels.  Fossil fuel companies cannot totally dominate all elements of the media.  Existing mass media institutions are already being diminished by web based media which is less beholden to corporate authority.  It is completely and utterly illogical and irrational to continue policies that will ultimately lead to the destruction of the very institution that the corporate leaders must ultimately protect to maintain their own position.  As such cooperation and clear action would be much more prudent, even from a purely selfish standpoint.

What can be said is that attachment to money may be such an overwhelming psychological addiction, that like any addiction such as drugs, sex, gambling, etc., it prevents the corporate leaders from being rational or intelligent about their long term best interests.  Do corporate leaders not even care about what kind of world their children grow up in?  Is infatuation with money and the addiction to short term power so overpowering that all thought and reason are thrown out the door?  It certainly seems so.  In addition most corporate leaders must answer to shareholders who are likely less directly involved in the business and are much more attached to short term financial gains as an expression of their egos.  This addictive cycle caused by attachment to money is likely to destroy the long term financial gains of these individuals as well, as catastrophic climate change will destroy the consumer economy upon which the entire system is based.

All of these processes favor more government power as irresponsible corporate leaders do not have the long term interests of themselves, the people, or the planet at heart.  Because of their lack of forethought and consideration, the ultimate result must end up being the diametric opposite of what they want, which is less government control.  And yet the government is the only institutions capable of managing the system once all faith in corporate responsibility is lost.  Corporate leaders should have long ago realized that they were destroying the foundations of their own power by choosing poorly in terms of long term development.  Even now, the consumer capitalist model is teetering on the verge of collapse from one of the other largest issues: income inequality and poverty.  The problem continues to be denied and the solution delayed by the media, once again under the hands of the very same corporate culture and leadership.

We see that the attachment to money creates a short term distortion of value that preserves the feeling that money gives the ego at the long term expense of planning for future development and sharing wealth and responsibility.  Each mistake made by the leaders based on this attachment weakens their long term power base.  Each distortion generated to prevent the loss of power costs more and more psychological and political resources.  Eventually, even with huge advantages of money and financial power, the ultimate negative perception generated by this manipulation of the public will divest the corporate leadership of the necessary good will that they need to maintain their domination over the process.  The end result must be the rise of a powerful political anti corporate movement which will seek to redistribute power to other institutions in order to safeguard the well being of the population, the planet, and the future.  Once this opposition has created a core party and ideology, all other elements of the equation will continually work against the economic leadership currently in place throughout the world.

The only possible means of preventing this is to address the framework for change within the current system and create the necessary solutions and begin implementing them now.  Further delay only increases the likelihood of the end of corporate capitalism as an effective economic institution.  Reform would help allow people to see that the system itself can work, but this would require a great deal of care and sacrifice on the part of the old guard economic leadership.  Henry Ford during the heyday of early capitalism in the early 1900s warned his compatriots that they had to pay their workers enough to afford their production.  Today, many responsible individuals who have benefited from the corporate system are trying to encourage the system to reform and deal with global warming and income inequality up front.  It is now in the hands of the conservative forces of the day to decide the fate of corporate capitalism.  The longer they wait to address the injustices of the system, the less likely it is that the system we have come to know as business itself risks perishing in the face of a crisis that it's leaders where unwilling and unable to acknowledge, address, and fix.
